The famed Mousse de Saxe base has been, until now, long gone — although modernised bases have appeared in recent years as historic perfumery becomes popular once again. Fraterworks Saxon Moss is true to the original Mousse de Saxe, down to the special form of Isobutyl Quinoline we produce ourselves to match the isomeric ratio of the original (no longer on the market). Once again perfumers can indulge in this masterpiece.

Rich with naturals, including a megadose of Mysore sandalwood, this wonderful mossy leathery base can be felt at less than 1% of a fragrance yet it can still be used in large amounts as it was previously in such fragrances as Nuit de Noel by Caron (formula below).

Our Saxon Moss is made from the original formula with one exception: the replacement of Musk Xylene which is now prohibited.
